Angel Verdeau & Co was a small Cognac house from Barbezieux (Charente), presented as "wine-growing owners" with vineyards spread across 12 communes in the department.
It was a local, family-run production, typical of the many independent houses in the region before the market became concentrated around the major brands (Hennessy, Martell, Rémy Martin, etc.). The style of the plaque (gilded letters, red, green, bottle illustration) corresponds to late 19th or early 20th-century advertising.
The house has not left significant traces in current sources: it seems to have disappeared or been absorbed, like many small producers in the Charente region. Barbezieux is located in the Fins Bois / Bons Bois crus of the Cognac AOC.
