Short description of distilleries linked to Peter Dawson

Peter Dawson did not have a single distillery to his name, but several links:

• Auchnagie (near Pitlochry): owned briefly in 1887, sold in 1890.
• Convalmore (Dufftown): built in 1893 with partners.
• Towiemore (near Dufftown): built by him in 1896-1898; its malt was chosen by Captain Scott for the 1910 Antarctic expedition.
• Also held interests in Balmenach, and later a license for Ord (Glen Ord) under DCL.

He was primarily a blender based in Glasgow, using Speyside malts (Dufftown / Glenlivet) for his blends such as Special, Perfection, and Old Curio.
