Advertising salt shaker (or bistro/promotional salt shaker) in white sheet metal, from the early to mid-20th century.
This is a promotional item distributed or sold to promote the digestive liqueur “Montciel” from the house of Barnoud & Rollet. These salt shakers (often accompanied by matching pepper shakers) were very common in French cafés, restaurants, and homes at the time. They served as both a table utensil and a discreet advertising medium.
