Lithographed tin for truffle edibles

Claudot-Deschandeliers is a luxury cannery from Ruffec (Charente), which claims to have been founded in 1816.

It sells truffle comestibles, especially foie gras terrines and game (pâté, terrines), intended for export. The registered trademark is a leaping roe deer.

The lithographed tin, printed by L. Revon & Cie, 93 rue Oberkampf in Paris, is an export advertisement from the late 19th – early 20th century (Belle Époque). The firm has disappeared from current catalogs; all that remains are these signs and the memory of a high-end Charente cannery.
