This is an antique promotional countertop spinning top (a rotating promotional gadget) made of lithographed sheet metal for the brand A. Junod, a distiller in Pontarlier (Doubs).
It is an atypical advertising piece, sought after by collectors of bistro items and vintage advertisements, and is emblematic of the slightly cheeky humor of the French countryside during the interwar period. The item in the photo shows slight wear (stains, patina) but remains highly legible and colorful.
